Scientific seminar on Improving operational efficiency and promoting the role of Hi-Tech Park in the strategy of science, technology and innovation development to 2030
The seminar organized by Saigon Hi-tech Park took place on May 16 at Saigon Hi-tech Park Incubation Center, with the participation of leaders from Department of High Technology – Ministry of Science and Technology, Management Board of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, Danang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Authority, Former Leaders of Saigon Hi-tech Park Board from time to time, experts and representatives from Ho Chi Minh City universities.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi – Head of Department of Saigon Hi-tech Park said that the mission of the Hi-Tech Park will be to master technology and management methods, to be able to produce high-quality goods, promote the improvement of endogenous capacity to develop into a regional and world IC design center, expected to enter the Top 5 by 2030, by 2045 to become a Science – Technology Urban Area Innovation, is the nucleus and new growth engine of the Southeast region and the whole country.
According to Mr. Tran Dac Trung – Deputy Head of Management Board of Hoa Lac High-Tech Park, the development of the Hi-Tech Park must ensure its role in creating added values to promote the socio-economic development. At the same time, the Hi-Tech Park must play the mission role as a leading and pervasive area for key technology fields and industries. Currently, Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park is having a transformation strategy from focusing on attracting FDI to improving endogenous capacity by developing domestic technology enterprises.
Mr. Tran Van Ty – Deputy Head of Danang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones Authority said that instead of focusing on production, technology park activities in the coming time should focus on business incubation activities. Research and development activities are the focus for high-tech development, so that Da Nang Hi-Tech Park is on the right track.
In the afternoon of the same day, Mr. Nguyen Le Hung – Deputy Director of High Technology Department – Ministry of Science and Technology also had a report on the principles of investment projects in hi-tech activities in Hi-Tech Park, criteria for: investment projects on research and development facilities, investment projects on high-tech application for the production of high-tech products and guidelines on spending content for research and development activities .
With the discussion session moderated by Mr. Nguyen Anh Thi, the seminar received a lot of valuable comments from the participants on issues of improving operational efficiency and promoting the role of the Hi-tech Park in the strategy of science, technology and innovation development until 2030 and comments on the High-Tech Park expansion scheme, as well as contributing to the development of criteria for evaluation and selection of investment projects into the Hi-Tech Park, thereby providing orientations for the development of national Hi-tech Parks in the coming time, actively contributing to the implementation of the 10-year socio-economic development strategy, period 2021 – 2030.
